Duties and responsibilities depend on the organisational chart of the front office department. It directly means size of hotel and number of employees.
1. Front Office Manager
Front Office Manager (FOM) is responsible of the whole front office department and provides all the resources of the department to work properly day to day. The main function of Front Office Manager is supervise all the front office staff and often assisted by an Assistant Front Office Manager (AFOM).
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Directly report to General Manager (GM).
2. Co-ordinate with Head of Department (HODs) of other department of hotel like - Executive Chef, F&B Manager, Executive Housekeeper etc.
3. Supervise to all the front office staff.
4. Responsible for training, hiring, supervising and disciplining all front office personnel.
5. Prepare budget for the front office department in hotel.
6. Resolve guest problem quickly with satisfaction.
7. Be responsible for the cleanliness of the entire office area.
8. Manage online records and inventories.

2. Reservation Assistant
Reservation assistant process the reservation request with all the modes such as telephonic, written, or online. Reservation section play a major role in generates the maximum revenue for the hotel. They process desired product or service according to guest with salesmanship.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To receive and process the reservation request for upcoming guests in hotel.
2. To prepare expected arrival and departure list of guest on everyday basis.
3. Sending reservation confirmation after completing reservation.
4. Updating room status after completing each reservation.
5. To receive reservation from the sales office, tour operator, travel agents, and corporate booking agents.
3. Receptionist
Receptionist is the first person of the hotel personnel which face to face connect with guest at the time of arrival. The basic job of a receptionist is answer their queries and receive guests.

1. Greet guest on their arrival at the hotel.
2. Politely collects the details of guest and confirmed reservation.
3. Assign rooms according to guest.
4. Escort guest help of bellboy to their rooms.
5. Co-ordinate with housekeeping department on room status update.
6. Co-ordinate with housekeeping of all check-outs and special request.

4. Information Assistant
Information assistant is responsible to give information about hotel product and service such as special food item, city special, special service and so on.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides information according guest's enquiry.
2. Maintain information rack of front office.
3. Handle guest's mails and messages in hotel.
4. Coordinate with Engineering Department for room maintenance.
5. Cashier
Cashier is most important person of the front office. They maintain all the credit and debit transactions with the hotel and present bill to guest at the departure time.
