Program Details

1. If you are between 19 and 25 years of age and have successfully completed, or are completing a university or college degree in any subject including Hotel Management

and wish to join The Oberoi Group as an Executive in Hotel Operations, join The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development.

2. The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development (OCLD) was established in 1966.

Today, management training programmes at OCLD are considered among the best in Asia and a benchmark for international excellence within the hotel industry.

3. OCLD programmes commence in July each year with the selection process beginning in September of the previous year.

4. OCLD is based in Maidens Hotel, Delhi.

5. OCLD offers a two year post graduate management programme in Guest Service Management, Housekeeping Management and Kitchen Management.

6. Guest Service Management focuses on careers in two main guest contact areas: Food and Beverage Service and Front Office.

On completion of this programme you would join as an Operations Executive and could one day become a Food and Beverage Manager or a Front Office Manager in any one of our hotels.

7. Housekeeping Management focuses on careers in Housekeeping.

On completion of this programme you would join as a Housekeeping Executive and could one day become an Executive Housekeeper in any one of our hotels.

8. Kitchen Management focuses on careers in culinary skills.

On completion of this programme you would join as a Kitchen Executive and could one day become an Executive Chef in any one of our hotels. If you are applying for the Kitchen Management Programme you should have completed or are about to complete a graduate degree in hotel management.

9. The Oberoi Centre of Learning Development (OCLD) is commencing a post graduate programme in Sales in 2017. The 18-month programme is designed to train graduates through a combination of academic study and comprehensive on-the-job training, for a long term career in hospitality sales with The Oberoi Group.

On completion of the OCLD programme, you will get ample growth and development opportunities in the company. Most General Managers in the company today are from The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development.

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for the OCLD post graduate Management Programmes is scheduled between September to December each year.

Recruitment is done through campus visits to Hotel Management colleges, other graduate colleges and Open Access Days at our hotels.

College students can contact their placement office for information of when The Oberoi Group is visiting their campus. Students of colleges not being visited by The Oberoi Group and other Applicants can apply on an Open Access Day.

The dates and locations of this year's Open Access Days will be available here in September.

Frequently Asked Questions for OCLD

Q: How will two years at OCLD add value to what I learnt during my hotel management diploma?
A: As part of your Hotel Management Diploma, you would have focused on general hotel operations. At OCLD we teach and train you on the systems and processes practiced in The Oberoi Group. Most of the faculty have been through OCLD themselves and have worked in the operations of our hotels for some years.

Q: I am in my final year at university, in a graduate course other than hotel management. If I get into OCLD, will I be able to keep up with the people who have already completed three years at a hotel management college?
A: The faculty appreciates the challenges that you will face. Each module has been formulated to build your technical skills and knowledge step-by-step. The lessons are appropriately supported by the usual range of learning materials. What at first might look quite challenging is in fact well thought out and therefore easy to follow.
